Re: Target, La Habra

I have heard that Target does not want to differentiate between store types anymore, although some offer different products. For instance, they are eliminating garden sections in a lot of the newer stores, however still maintains them at others. The La Habra store has an expanded grocery section wit...

Re: Target, La Habra

Just an update: On Tuesday, July 22 at 5:00 PM, the old La Habra Target closed and its new location opened. Although it is not a Super Target or a Greatlands, it is pretty big. The old address was 1000 E. Imperial Hwy and the new one is 1000 W. Imperial Hwy. Not really smart because it confused many...

Re: Market Basket locations in 1959 and 1963

The Whittier location was demolished sometime during the late 80s/early 90s. Magnolia Ave used to run through to Whittier Blvd, however when they built the new shopping center, they took out that section of road. The current shopping center has a Ralphs and a Blockbuster Video. It is across the stre...

Re: Target, La Habra

The strip club across the street was just bought out by the city for a hefty price a couple of months ago. Haven't heard what is going up in its place. They took down the sign and vacated. Re: Target, La Habra

Apparently it was just orange groves prior to it being built. I wasn't able to find anything prior to about '86 either. That was when Dayton Hudson was expanding in California, and that seems to correspond with my existing memories of it. No news on what is to replace it.
Thanks for the help!

Re: King cole Market in Whittier Ca

That's right! I grew up not too far from that area so it makes sense that we would shop there. Thanks.

Re: King cole Market in Whittier Ca

I vaguely remember the existence of this market, mostly I remember the sign, however I can't remember where it was located. Any help?

Target, La Habra

Hey all, I'm new to the field of commercial archaeology, but have been interested in it for a long time. I can't believe there are so many interested in it as well. I am a history student but attempting a personal project tracing back major shopping areas in the Greater Whitter, North OC area to be ...
