1999 Abandoned Fort Worth Texas Supermarket

Post by pinkfloyd95209 »

I saw a very interesting episode of " Life After People" (called The Last Supper). There is a segment about an abandoned Fort Worth, Texas Supermarket that still had food in it which just rotted and caused a stinking mess. The year given is 1999. Apparently the owner went bankrupt and just abruptly closed its doors leaving all food in it. What was the name of the market. How old was it and is the building still standing>

The market seen in the beginning of the episode is a HOWS market located in Malibu, CA.

The store was called Mexia Supermarket. I haven't found a location yet. I found some Ft. Worth City Council minutes that a southside councilman was organizing a meeting about the cleanup on his side of town, and that the cleanup cost the city around $100,000. Haven't found any more info yet.
