Albertson's differences in CA and CO

Post by Jon Jax 71 »

I was visiting Denver Colorado and was happy to see a few Albertson's and Sav-On stores. I went to one of them to do some purchasing and at check out I whipped out my Albertson's card and they wouldn't accept it as they told me they don't use cards here, the prices are the same for cardholders and non-cardholders alike

Reminded me of last time i was here and went to Krogers which uses the name King Sooper's and they wouldn't take my Ralphs card as they said, same parent company and products, but they don't share the same network for cardholders

That's because (at least for now) the two are under different ownership.

Albertsons in CA is part of SuperValu. Albertsons Market in CO is part of Albertsons LLC. LLC just announced they were purchasing the rest of what's left of the SuperValu stores. LLC doesn't use cards for sales.

By the end of this year, both will be part of Albertsons LLC.
