Safeway in Houston

Does anyone know when Safeway was building stores in Houston?

Safeway operated in Houston from 1969-1988. I'd assume they built some stores during that time, in addition to the 1984 acquisition of the Weingarten stores. I don't ever remember seeing a marina store there, but there were several brown boxes, and a couple of newer stores. Most of the Houston division's organic growth was in areas outside of Houston, particularly in the Piney Woods area. The division stretched up to Nacogdoches. There was a line roughly south of US 84 in Texas where the Dallas and Houston divisions were split. Henderson and Carthage were part of the Dallas division, but Center and Nacogdoches were in the Houston division. All four of these stores were built post-1980, and were all Safeway built.
