I felt like I’d died and gone to Brady Bunch heaven when I walked into the Ingles store above in Asheville NC last weekend. It’s in a semi-dying shopping center on Tunnel Road and was the most wonderfully orange and brown beauty (inside and out) that I’d seen in years…
And there’s another one just like it a few miles north in Hendersonville…

April 12, 2012 at 7:21pmThat Ingles has since closed and has been replaced with a new, much larger one next door. There is a similarly small, but more drab one on the backside of downtown Franklin, NC, but the store in this post has been closed forever (I believe around 2007). There are larger versions of this store in Statesville, NC off of I-40, in south Hendersonville, NC and a couple of other areas.
