Circa 1954, the "Los Angeles Herald-Express" newspaper apparently created a film, "This is Los Angeles, Your Blue Chip Market," to promote Los Angeles County to advertisers.

At around 10:10, the film shows color exterior and parking lot shots of a Ralphs store, a Safeway store, a Market Basket store and a McDaniel's store. A conveyor belt and a cash register are shown. Also shown are shots of the "world headquarters" of the Rexall Owl Drug store chain and a Thrifty drug store.

Re: 1954 Color Film of Los Angeles County Supermarket Exteriors
There are a couple of shots of the Westchester district (Ralphs and Market Basket) on Sepulveda near LAX just a minute or so before as well. This is a pretty great video all the way around. Thanks!
