Vons is building a new store at Broadway and Atlantic in Long Beach, and demolished the existing store. Safeway opened up there in 1966 and it became a Vons in 1989. Marina style store, but it was small.
Parking was a problem at that store, but not any more as they plan to have roof top parking.

That's a shame, the marina stores just keep getting more and more scarce. I think I got a photo or two of this location somewhere in my digital picture archive. I started to take pictures of pretty much anything that interested me once I got a digital camera, because life has shown me that you never know when something you thought of as "permanent" will disappear.
