Mick-or-Mack

Does anyone know the history or anything about the Mick-or-Mack chain? They were apparently pretty big at one time in the Roanoke, VA area and there appear to have been stores as far north as Harrisonburg, VA and through the Shenandoah Valley.
There are apparently some Mick-or-Mack stores left; perhaps one in Roanoke and a Mick-or-Mack IGA in New Castle, VA.
I found a picture of an old Mick-or-Mack sign on the web from New Castle at http://www.tommyfirebaugh.com/gallery/c ... g&d=d.html.
Gotta love their to-the-point slogan: "Cash Talks".
