Does anyone know if "Giant Food" grocery store in the Washington DC Region has archives. A place I can e-mail to get historical information of the history of the different stores. And maybe information on the milestones store had over the years.

If anyone can help me that would be great.

None that I know of from the company, but you could try contacting them. There are still many third-party resources dedicated to the memory of Giant, such as Facebook groups and the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington. I also have a spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 0552218807) with many of their locations listed throughout the years.

The Jewish Historical Society site looks like it's been hacked, but here is a summary of material they used to have online: https://parkviewdc.com/2011/10/26/histo ... l-meeting/

I seem to recall that the Jewish Historical Society also had a more general exhibit/posting on DC grocers, in general. Most of the indies were owned by Jews in DC. In other cities, the Irish (somewhat numerous in DC, but more involved in property development) or Italian immigrants (not very numerous although there still are a couple notable Italian delis, although they are nothing like what baltimore has) and their children were more of a factor.

There's an archive of their advertising (which was done in house) at Duke University: https://archives.lib.duke.edu/catalog/giantfood

Giant also did its own in-store designs and also did this under contract for other chains, so there might be an archive of that material some place.
