Re: Really informative page on a former marina Safeway in North Omaha
Safeway's old Omaha division closed down entirely in 1982, which was several years before the KKR buyout (and less than a decade and a half since this particular location had closed) - https://www.upi.com/Archives/1982/02/18/Safeway-Stores-Inc-plans-to-close-68-stores-in/8633382856400/#:~:text=Safe...

Re: Unidentified former Safeway in west Fresno
We have interior photos at Google Maps. The business is "Discount General Merchandise" 370 B Street Fresno, CA. The floor is quite old. Shelving along the walls looks drugstore like. Liquor license - https://www.abc.ca.gov/licensing/license-lookup/single-license/?RPTTYPE=12&LICENSE=%20...

Last Longs Interior Store - Rite Aid- Washogual, WA
The last drug store I know of with a Longs interior is the Rite Aid in Washogual, WA. If anyone is interested in seeing it, they should visit it by 12/5/23. This store had the early 00's Longs interior which was very outdated dirty off cream color looking walls and ugly giant lower case department l...

Re: New location list: Visalia and Tulare
Wondering about the address on the Visalia Vons. Google isn't aligned.
Looking more at this it looks like at some point the addresses split by the Interstate on Mineral King and one side of the street stayed Mineral King and the other side of the street became Noble.

Re: Mystery restaurant with frying pan-shaped sign
Looking around at the still open Golden Skillet units, I notice some of them have a greenhouse-type glass window front designs sort of like older Wendys units. In Fallon, NV there is a Subway unit freestanding with drive through that looks very much like that design. Before Subway that was a Taco Ti...

Re: Safeway La Junta, CO
Still some other mid 90's interiors lingering around CO but I don't think we are very interested in those interiors on this site. Despite the fact that they were relatively new when the site began, those interiors are pushing 30 now so I think they definitely qualify as “history” at this point. I w...

Re: Shopping Bag Food Stores In Southern California
That list is definitely out of date; I don't think any Albertsons exist from the Shopping Bag days anymore. The Sierra Madre store closed a few years ago, there's only one picture of the inside from Yelp, and it looks like an ancient store that wasn't touched since before the blue-and-gray era. Yes...

Safeway La Junta, CO
I have heard the Safeway in La Junta has been remodeled or is in the process of being remodeled. Sounds like it has gotten the generic "Modern" (Florida) decor but this is not 100% confirmed. Disappointing year for these Safeway Museums in Colorado. First Burlington gets relocated and now ...

Re: Former Albertsons in Cheyenne, Wyoming
Did more research on this site. 3741 was a Big Lots that closed at some point in the past 5 years, prior to being Spirit. But that floor, I've never seen that floor in a Big Lots. Looking back at historical photos on Google Maps, the Albertsons was absolutely the current Sportsmen's Warehouse. I can...

Re: Safeway in San Francisco's Fishermans Wharf area closing
This store kept the old pre-lifestyle signs outside and in the mall, but was a fairly early Lifestyle remodel. Not to go too far down the current event topic but this store was remodeled inside in 2022 for some reason and now it is closing. The Madera Pak N Save that closed in 2022 was also remodele...

Re: Pre-CKE Green Burrito Locations
In Santa Maria was an odd Arbys/Green Burrito combination. Looking at Google Maps Layers that disappeared between 2015-2016. Arbys is still there.
That Green Burrito food did not taste the same as the one the Carls units served.
I think all freestanding/non Carls Green Burrito units are gone now.

Re: NEW: Medford, Oregon 1931-2020
This one 7521 Crater Lake Hwy closed as a Rays Food Place discount operation- I think it had the Shop Smart banner (may have been Price Less Foods). This one 251 E Barnett Rd is a former Kmart closed in the early or mid 90's. 745 Stewart closed in 2005 as Foodland and finally reopened a few years ag...

Re: Smith's/PriceRite/Food4Less Las Vegas
I would just ad that this store was originally a brand new Smith's superstore. The Price Rite division of Smith's started in the 90s with the purchase of the Las Vegas Megafoods stores. As they were very successfull, Smith's started giving Pricerite some of the dogs in the rest of the Southwest reg...

Hello: This is a Kmart Canada register from the mid 80s until the late 90s. Me and another poster on here have been trying forever to figure out which Manufacturer and Model this is!!! Reply's on Kmart Canada Facebook heritage/memories pages have differing opinions. https://www.cbc.ca/archives/the-...
