A center bakery and deli behind the produce... What could have been like a restaurant area in the center too.. Meats and deli ...

Pavillions ever in Victorville?
Was there ever a Pavillions in Victorville? Last weekend I went to the Vons off Bear Valley in East Victorville and was suprised to see how much it looks like a Pavillions inside and out. Its identical to the Pavillions in Arcadia layout wise on the inside, even though its been remodeled and is a lo...

Re: Unimart in Los Angeles?
There is another unaltered Unimart building in Norwalk on the corner of Alondra and Maidstone. Its currently an indoor swap meet, but they still have the diamond shaped sign over the entry, and the distinct building design.

Re: Can anyone identify this mystery market in Whittier Ca?
It looks like a Marina Safeway. Would make sense if it closed around the time Vons bought Safeway since there is a Vons close by at the Whittwood Mall.

Lucky's Alhambra Closes
Another supermarket has closed on Valley Blvd. This Lucky was previously a Max Foods, Grocery Warehouse and Fazio's market.
This store was always pretty busy, so I'm sure it was the changing demographics that caused the change.

Re: the BROADWAY
A third has been found. Metrocenter Mall in Phoenix. The Macys store closed and moved into the former Robinsons-May location. So this store could have been demolished by now. The ex-Broadway at Metrocenter is still standing at this time. Funny how designs changed over the years. In the older photos...

Re: Vintage Supermarkets in Movies and TV (Old Ones Only Please)
One of the old episodes of CHiPs shows an old Alpha Beta store (that was called something else on the episode - even though it said ALPHA BETA on the store). The store used was located on Jefferson and Overland in Culver City. It recently expanded into the old drug store next door and is large (with...

Re: the BROADWAY
The San Bernardino location (mentioned above)...turned Macy*s, then completely remodeled to open as Mervyn's, and never did, as the chain closed. The entire site is now Forever 21. Need to get in to see if it was transformed much. I went into it yesterday. Here is my 411: Mervyns had mentioned that...

Re: Ohrbach's Department Store
I went to the Cerritos Mall on Friday. Here's what I can add: The old OHRBACHS store is way changed. They completely gutted it and painted over the purple tile on the sides of the building but only put up a fake facade from the looks of it. They did change the entry. They removed the original escala...

Re: Lucky in Long Beach,CA
I am guessing the original Lucky was torn down.
Edit: The again, looking at the historic aerial and the new bing birds eye view, the center roof line still matches.

I was on the 605 last night and drove by the new ugly remodel Forever 21 did on the Ohrbachs store. Wow I'm shocked how bad it looks. I miss the old look already.

Re: Ohrbach's Department Store
We all knew it couldnt last forever, but at least it lasted 23 years after OHRBACHS closed.
