When the Loma Linda CA Alpha Beta closed in the center @ Barton Road & Mountain View...the Stater Brothers across the street essentially demolished the former Alpha Beta and moved to this site. The former Stater Brothers became a Clark's Nutrional store. Clark's maintained the Staters' signage...just removed Staters' from the oval, and inserted Clark's name.
The Thrifty Drug Store that had been in the Alpha Beta center closed, and Rite Aid (which acquired Thrifty) built a new store on the corner of the newly christened Clark's center.
The Thrifty became BURKE'S...a ROSS-type store for some time. It is now vacant.

Will have to drive-by...in these times...I am sure it will sit vacant, as well as I am sure it is very old.luckysaver wrote:Dean,

They had a NUMBER of sites scattered around the area. The new site @ the former Norton Air Force base is amazing.

In Colton-Grand Terrace-Loma Linda area alone, Staters has:
3-7 supermarkets (I don't know how many exactly, but on Barton Road, there's at least 1 Staters in each city).
multi-building corporate headqurters (including warehouses, office building, mechanic shops), also on Barton Road
New headquarters at the former Norton AFB (10 Freeway splits San Bernardino and Loma Linda)
In this area, Staters is the most dominant chain.
