I remember for many years, Fred Meyer advertisements would often list locations at the bottom of the page where items were not available. It seemed that on every page it would say, "Not available at 6th & Alder."
Was the store at 6th & Alder a much smaller store than usual or was there another reason that sale items were not available at that location?

Hi,
This store was located in downtown Portland, and it opened during 1983-84, replacing the 1950s-era location on SW 5th & Morrison. This store was closed in June 1992.
According to the official FM store opening docs, this location had only 10,000 sq. ft. despite having an upper level added in 1989 for the Home Electronics department.

I decided to bump this...I am still curious of what kind of merchandise mix this particular location had, and if it had a full grocery department.

I visited this store in the early 1990's and found it was a drug and variety only Freddy's. By the mid 90's, it was sold to Payless Drug. It is now a Rite Aid.
