There was a Winn Dixie in the Brevard Mall (Melbourne Fl) on Babcock Street. Accross from Publix and melbourne High School. That Mall is reported to be the 1st Indoor mall Edward Debartolo ever built.

As for Tampa, the Nebraska Avenue store was probably the first store of that type to be built in that area, although nearby Lakeland had two, I believe, by that time. And off this topic, but at least directly across the street... was also an A&P. ... I'm not sure when the A&P closed, but at least for a bit in the 80s there was a new-build Family Mart a bit to the west on FL 520...not sure of the exact spot, but I think it was not too far from the Mercury...

I believe that at one time Hills was owned by a company called Pueblo International, I think out of san Jaun. When I first moved to Central Florida there was a warehouse Store called Xtra that was owned by the same company,

Grand union is long gone in the New York/New Jersey area. I live in Norther NJ and most of the Grand Union locations became Stop and Shops. I believe that there are a few Grand Union store still operating in Northern New York. Although the look is different, these were once part of the bigger chain...

I can't help you with New Jersey, but as a kid I also went shopping at Great Eastern Mills -- later shortened to Great Eastern -- on Long Island, and possibly in Queens and/or Brooklyn, though I remember them being in Jersey too.
