Re: Extinct Supermarket Merchandise
I go throught lots of Rotelle product in my accounts.
How about a pasta brand that I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember how to spell. Gioia? NOT GOYA. It came in a light blue box, disappeared around the late 80s early 90s.

Kroger in Weirton West Virginia
If anyone is passing by Weirton, WV there is an old Kroger on Main Street about a mile off the Route 22 Main Street exit. Store is still operating and looks as thought the interior has not been updated since the late 70's. As soon as I get my photos developed (still shoot film) I will post a photo o...

Re: Roger's Grocery - and a Rural store
The Roger's Market pictured ( a photo taken from my flickr page) about four posts above is located in Endicott, NY. I doubt it is related in anyway with the Rogers being discussed in this post.

Re: The first store that got me interested in old supermarkets
The Foodmart in South Corning, NY an independent from the 30's until closing in 2006. I spent 22 years of my life working there, and would still be there if it had not closed, which spawned my interests in anything related to grocery stores.

Re: Extinct Supermarket Merchandise
The Franco American name seems to be gone, replaced by Campbell's. I think Marys Kitchen Hash has been replaced by the Hormel name.

I did not think Steakumms went away. They are coming out with frozen burgers in the spring.
Hunts Pudding came in metal cans and tasted better then.

Re: Supermarkets in the Movies and TV
Years ago when I watched Adam-12 they would be dispatched once or twice a season to the same supermarket over the shows run. I always tried to see what products were on display and if a store name was shown.
