The following Sears locations in the San Francisco Bay Area of California are from a Sunday advertisement in the Oakland Tribune in early October of 1982:
Antioch – County East Mall
Concord – Sun Valley Mall
Cupertino – Vallco Fashion Park
Eastridge – Tully Rd. at Quimby
Hayward – Southland Mall
Mtn. View – San Antonio Center
Oakland – Telegraph at 27th
Newark – Hwy. 17 at Mowry
San Bruno – Tanforan Park
San Francisco – Geary at Masonic
San Jose – San Carlos at Meridian
San Mateo – Hillsdale Center
San Rafael – Northgate Mall
Santa Cruz – Capitola Mall
Vallejo – Larwin Plaza
I think that the Pleasanton-Stoneridge Mall Sears store opened in 1996 or so and therefore is not on this list. The downtown Oakland Sears I think was greatly damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake; I believe that the current Sears in downtown Oakland is where the Capwell's department store once was. Was the San Francisco Sears store at Geary & Masonic later a Mervyn's? Or did Sears and Mervyn's co-exist there?

Mervyn's took over part of the space after Sears closed around 1990, I think.Jason B. wrote:The following Sears locations in the San Francisco Bay Area of California are from a Sunday advertisement in the Oakland Tribune in early October of 1982:

BTW the original Antioch Sears (which opened in the 1950s) was in downtown Antioch and became the Nick Rodriguez Community Center;
