In the early 1950s, there were numerous stores in Providence with names like "Joe's Pure Food Market" and "Main Street Pure Food Market" or whatever. I'm wondering if this was just a generic term used in that area or an actual co-op/franchise.
There was one biggie named "Weybosset Pure Food Market" which had numerous locations over a long period of time. Most of the others seem clustered pretty much in the late 1940s and early 1950s and seem to be one-ff stores under individual names.
This should NOT be confused with Purity Stores, which was a whole different animal.
Anyone with firsthand knowledge (as opposed to guesses)?

I like doing research as well. I found this after doing research in RI on Almac's. I hope this helps if you have not seen this.
