This is a list of all known chain grocery addresses in Louisville between 1922 and 2022, compiled from city directories, telephone books, and other sources. It is generated through a live Google Spreadsheet so it reflects the latest information I have.

Notes:

  • Louisville city directories did not publish individual chain store locations between 1922 and 1946.
  • Steiden Stores was established by a former manager of the Louisville Clarence Saunders stores, and was acquired by Winn & Lovett (later Winn-Dixie) in 1945.
  • Park & Shop was an Indianapolis chain that expanded to Louisville in 1955. It was briefly owned by Colonial Stores (1955-1959) but was resold to its original owners and was defunct by 1962.
