This is a list of all chain grocery locations my research has uncovered in St Louis between 1933 and 1975, compiled from city directories, telephone books, and other sources. There may be some omissions due to incomplete or missing data, etc. and I welcome suggestions and corrections. Please read about my methodology for more information about what I do and do not include.

Notes:
- The Bettendorf and Rapp’s stores were listed under the consolidated name. They may have operated under the two individual banners. I don’t know for sure.
- Kroger owned the Piggly Wiggly stores in St Louis at least as early as 1933.

May 9, 2023 at 2:55pmRapp’s operated a store in the General Grant shopping center, in the 8400 block of Watson Road, St. Louis, Missouri. Though the shopping center is now in Webster Groves, at the time Rapp’s was there it was in Marlborough, Missouri.

This store was purchased by Schnucks in 1970 and remained open until the 1980s. Dollar Tree and an antique store split this store today. Was combined as Bettendorf-Rapp until 1970.
