Saw you have H.E.B. It started in the early 1900s in Kerrvile ,Texas, north of San Antonio. I won’t go into the entire history, they have a website an a Wikipedia page. They are all over south Texas and into Mexico. The headquarters used to be in Corpus christi, but then they moved to San Antonio. They bought the delivery service Favour. They also have some other stores like H.E.B. Central Market which is their more high end grocery stores. And there is H.E.B. Plus, which has electronics, and a few other things.
By the way, you forgot to mention Kohl’s Supermarket of Milwaukee. Years ago my late grandmother used to live in Menominee Falls,Wis. She moved there from Milwaukee. Used to shop at a Kohl’s grocery store there. One day my dad who was in the Airforce came to see grandma. Happend to be in the store with her and the owner’s son got talking to my dad. Said he wanted his father to branch out and open more stores, but the old man refused to do so.When he died, the son took over and slowly expanded and created more stores. Don’t know when but at some point kohl’s went into regular retail with department stores ,and eventually found there was more money in that and closed the grocery branch. As far as i know, there are no more grocery stores under the kohl’s name. They have their history on their website.
