Annapolis Chain Grocery/Supermarket Locations, 1928-1986

This is a list of all known chain grocery addresses in Annapolis between 1949 and 1986, compiled from city directories, telephone books, and other sources. It is generated through a live Google Spreadsheet so it reflects the latest information I have.

At Parole Plaza, in the Food Fair/Pantry Pride location, was a Magruder’s grocery store that opened around 1984.

The Giant at Forest Plaza was there until 1987 I believe, when it moved to the next shopping center at Festival at Riva. The original, earlier Giant became a Kiddie City toy store.

Finally, another major grocery chain in the area when I was growing up was Graul’s – I’m too lazy to look up the address, but they had two locations in the Annapolis area, the other being in Cape St. Claire.
