Niagara Falls (New York) Grocery/Supermarket Locations, 1925-2005

This is a list of chain grocery addresses in parts of Niagara County between 1925 and 2005, compiled from city directories, telephone books, and other sources. There may be some omissions due to incomplete or missing data, etc. and I welcome suggestions and corrections. Please read about my methodology for more information about what I do and do not include.

  • The Red & White stores, particularly in 1949, may be incomplete as they were not always listed as such in the city directory. This may also be true of Arrowhead stores.
  • Great Bear and B-Kwik were forerunners of the Tops Markets chain, as was the store run by Ferranti (and later Armand) Castellani (listed 1925-1942) and the Belmart store (listed 1960) on Hyde Park Boulevard–a partnership between Castellani and Bells Markets.
