Hi, I worked for Alpha Beta starting in 1979 in Chino. Transferred to other Alpha Beta stores in my grocery career. Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, Hermosa Beach, Vista, Oceanside, Rancho Peñasquitos, Escondido, Encinitas. Retired in 2016. I started in “Alpha Beta” which turned into “Lucky”, which turned into “Stater Bros.”
I came to this site looking for the Uniforms we wore in the Service Deli/Bakery.
Nobody believes me when I tell them we wore “Swiss Miss” Dresses with little white aprons & little white hats that looked like cup holders & white shoes. I know there HAS to be a picture somewhere of these uniforms! I believe we (Laguna Beach) were the first in the chain at the time to have this upscale bakery & deli program. We had a Premium Line of Cakes in the bakery, & the first Deli at the time in Alpha Beta to sell Fried Chicken! I know some other higher volume re-model stores went with that program too. If anybody has a picture of those dresses, please send it to my email below! Thanks SO much!!! Shelley
