Fresno
Introduction
Fresno has had a long and competitive history with respect to chain grocers. Over the years, such big names as Safeway, Albertsons, Alpha-Beta, Mayfair Markets, Save-Mart, and Vons have figured into the city’s mix, along with with numerous independents and smaller chains like McMillan’s and Food Bank.
