You never mentioned INKS ( think that changed to Van’s), Pantry (not Handy Pantry) Thriftway Market, Mar Val market (in Rio Linda, I guess that’s not Sacramento), Rainbow Market (North Sacramento), Arcade Market (North Sacramento)

I only study chains, so if these were individual/independent stores, I wouldn’t have included them.

Hi there, Ralphs came to Sacramento in May of ’76 – 3 stores. Closed in July (?) of ’78. I literally locked the doors at the last store because they closed them sequentially that day so payroll could cut checks to everyone. The Florin Rd (65th and Florin #722) was the last to close.
There was one at Arden and Watt (#721), and one at Greenback and San Juan (#723).
They sold to Patterson’s (Joe and Bruce). They had run Farmer’s I believe. They made it a college of years and sold to Holiday from Cottonwood (Redding area). Circle H was the brand they used. Later became the Pak N’ Save stores owned by Safeway.
Love your tweets, that where I see most of your stuff.

    Please change “college” to “couple”.

    Another victim of auto-correct.

    Thanks.
