Sent to me several years ago by Daniel, who participates on the Groceteria Message Board, this 1982 video capture is from a TV news story on the closing of a Marina Safeway in Visalia, California, just south of Fresno. It’s a nice shot of a then-intact interior from the middle to late 1960s.
Hello. I recall seeing a few more photos of the Visalia Safeway store posted on here many years ago, but do not see them anymore. If I remember correctly, the photos showed the front of the store facing the parking lot (from inside the store) and the checkout area. If somebody has those photos still, I would love to see them. I have always had an interest and passion for grocery stores, and have recently relaunched my research.
